The world map of e-waste shows the apparent variations in e-waste volumes, according to the type of items included within the definition. The 2005 estimate for Canada was limited to consumer electronics and computer equipment.

The UK count included office and telecommunications equipment, consumer entertainment electronics, large and small domestic appliances and refrigerators. In Switzerland e-waste is physically weighed and accounted for, leading to greater accuracy of reporting than in other countries where figures are estimates.
